Anand and Smith Medal as M-S Girls’ Cross-Country Takes Sixth at Metamora Invitational

Two Mahomet-Seymour athletes earned medals on Saturday (Oct. 12) for their finishes in the 23-school Metamora Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Girls’ Cross-Country Invitational.
Finishing 16th on the 2.94-mile course was Emily Anand (18:40.30). Placing 19th was Cecily Smith (19:00.40).
No personal bests or season bests were established since the course wasn’t a full 3 miles.
Five other Bulldogs wound up among the top 100 in a meet with 251 competitors.
Chloe Bundren was 51st (20:08.30), Finley Smith was 65th (20:26.20), Kennedy Ashby was 66th (20:29.20), Morgan Waisath was 76th (20:41.30) and Jinan Abdo was 77th (20:41.90).
Other M-S participants were Ava Jansen (21:19.30), Emma Frazier (21:52.20), Emily Ramirez (21:56.40), Emmaline Culp (22:04.90), Caroline Allen (22:30.30), Blaire Gabel (24:09.50), Ruby Anderson (24:14.10), Grace Bednar (27:16.60) and Camryn Nelson (28:03.60).
Garnering team accolades was Washington (101 points), followed by Eureka (157 points) and Dunlap (164 points). M-S ended in sixth place (210 points).
M-S returns to action on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at Mount Zion in the Apollo Conference Meet.
