After four years of doing business in Mahomet, American Graphx will open a storefront in the No Limit Fitness facility at 201 North Prairie View Road on Saturday. The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Lee and Sarah Jones have run their screen printing, embroidery and vinyl graphics business from their home for the last eight years. The couple said the production part of the business will still operate out of their garage, but the storefront will give them a place to sell Mahomet-Seymour Bulldog apparel, including P.E. uniforms for the secondary schools.
Working 16 hour days during the school year has been tough on Lee, but he said he enjoys the freedom working at home provides because he can be there for his daughters.
“It’s nice that we can be there for our kids,” Sarah said.
By working from home, Lee is able to be there for dinner, to help pick the kids up from school or go to school parties.
Not only does Lee workout at No Limit Fitness, but he also makes t-shirts for the gym. Lee said the majority of his business comes from local businesses who need embroidered t-shirts, vinyl graphics on their cars or signs.
And both businesses have plans for growth in the near future. American Graphx will join No Limit Fitness in their new facility located next to Casey’s General Store this winter. American Graphx will also have a website that will include an online store this fall.
