Mahomet-Seymour used three solo home runs – two by Abby Akers – to edge Normal Community, 4-2, at home on Tuesday (April 26).
Akers and Karley Yergler – who blasted her team-high eighth home run – accounted for all four of the M-S hits. They each had two hits.
Yergler (13-1) had another pitching gem. She allowed five hits, walked one batter and struck out 15.
M-S (15-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 28) at St. Joseph-Ogden.
