Ackman’s Varsity Debut Powers Mahomet-Seymour to 22-3 Victory Over Urbana

Senior Kody Ackman made his first varsity start on Saturday (March 23) at Urbana and earned the pitching win as Mahomet-Seymour clubbed the Tigers 22-3.

In three innings, Ackman permitted two hits while posting four strikeouts. He was followed to the mound by Nolan Johnson and Max Young, each of whom recorded two strikeouts during their one-inning stints.

Raymond Long led the Bulldogs’ 14-hit attack. He was 3-for-4, including a home run, and knocked in four runs. Tyson Finch and Cade Starrick each registered two hits. Finch belted two doubles.

Noah Butler, Mason Orton and Ben Weddle all contributed two RBI.

Long and Miles Woolsey both scored three runs. Crossing home plate twice each were Butler, Finch, Finn Randolph, Henry Wagner and Weddle.

M-S (3-1) returns to action on Monday (March 25) at Teutopolis.
