Children traded in the candy they collected Halloween night on Nov. 1 during the Annual Halloween Candy Buy Back at Mahomet Family Dentistry. Dr. Nezar Kassem gives each child $1 per pound of candy donated. Based on the total weight of candy, Kassem also donated $209 to Mahomet Helping Hands.
The 209 pounds of candy will be shipped to Operation Gratitude Halloween Candy Program in mid-November. Children also decorated cards to send to troops overseas.
