Arts & Crafts Supply Swap at Mahomet Public Library

The Mahomet Public Library is hosting its annual Arts & Crafts Supply Swap, a community event designed for anyone looking to refresh their creative supplies or try a new hobby without spending money. This event encourages participants to declutter their homes by donating gently-used or brand-new art and craft materials and, in return, pick up new-to-them supplies for free. It is a sustainable way to share resources, foster creativity, and connect with fellow crafters in the Mahomet community.

Donation Drop-Off:
From May 4 through May 9, community members are invited to bring in art and craft supplies that are in good condition and ready to be passed on to others.

Swap Day Schedule (May 10):

  • 10:00–10:15 am: Early entry for donors. Those who have donated supplies during the drop-off period will receive a voucher, granting them first pick at the swap.
  • 10:15–11:00 am: Public entry opens. Anyone who did not donate can now participate and select supplies, with a limit of one bag per person during this period.
  • 11:00 am and beyond: All restrictions are lifted. Anyone-regardless of whether they donated or have already filled a bag-may take any remaining materials, with no bag limit.

Event Details:

  • All ages are welcome.
  • No registration is required.
  • The event is part of the library’s Adult Craft Connection series, but families and individuals of all ages are encouraged to participate.
