OUTside in Champaign Forests: April Hike Promotes Nature and Inclusion

The Champaign County Forest Preserve District is set to host its monthly OUTside in Champaign Forests event on Saturday, April 12 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Sangamon River Forest Preserve. This inclusive hiking series, held every second Saturday of the month, brings together nature enthusiasts and community members to celebrate the outdoors while fostering a welcoming space for queer-identifying individuals and allies.

A Celebration of Nature and Community

In partnership with Uniting Pride of Champaign County, the event invites participants to explore the county’s extensive network of trails spanning 47 miles across seven preserves. Each hike offers an opportunity to connect with nature while building a sense of community. The April hike will take place at the Sangamon River Forest Preserve.
