Trump Administration Revokes Security Clearances for Top Biden Officials

Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced on Monday that she has revoked the security clearances of several high-ranking officials from the Biden administration. The decision, made at the directive of President Donald Trump, affects former Secretary of State Antony Blinken, former National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, and former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco, among others.

The list of individuals losing their clearances also includes New York Attorney General Letitia James and Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, both of whom have been involved in legal actions against President Trump. Additionally, Mark Zaid, Norman Eisen, and Andrew Weissmann, who have been critical of Trump or involved in legal cases against him, have also had their clearances revoked.

Furthermore, Gabbard stated that 51 former officials who signed a 2020 letter labeling reports about Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation” have also lost their security clearances.

In another significant development, former President Joe Biden will no longer receive the President’s Daily Brief, a daily intelligence summary traditionally provided to former presidents. This decision marks a departure from past practices and has raised concerns about the politicization of national security.

President Trump’s decision to revoke clearances for dozens of former officials in a single action is unprecedented in its scope and openness. No previous president has publicly targeted such a large number of former intelligence officials and high-ranking officials across party lines in this manner.
