Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: Auggie Gaudio

Junior cross-country standout Auggie Gaudio has added another major accomplishment to his impressive season. Gaudio captured the Apollo Conference Championship title this week, finishing with a winning time of 15:02.1. 

Just days before his conference win, Gaudio finished third in the 23-school Metamora Gene Jones Runnin’ Red Invitational on October 12th, outpacing 290 competitors with a time of 14:58.4 on a 2.94-mile course. Despite the slight course difference, Gaudio’s exceptional effort helped Mahomet-Seymour earn a second-place team finish.

Gaudio has been a consistent force for the Bulldogs throughout the season, placing second at the East Peoria Invitational earlier this fall with a time of 15:44.9 in a 3-mile race. Week after week, he has proven to be one of the top competitors in the region, and his recent Apollo Conference title only adds to his growing list of achievements.
