Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Golf Finishes 11th at IHSA Sectional, Hunter and Park Lead Team

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ golf team finished 11th in the Normal University High Class 2A IHSA Sectional on Monday (Oct. 7).

The Bulldogs’ team composite was 388.

The sectional team title was won by Lincoln Way East (316), followed by O’Fallon (340) and Edwardsville (350).

The top three teams – as well as individuals who shot an 83, or better – all qualified for state, which will start on Friday (Oct. 18) at Hickory Point Golf Course, in Decatur.

Individually, Bulldog freshman Katie Hunter and sophomore Sophie Park shared team honors with 95s. They tied for 47th in the 120-player tournament.

Other M-S sectional competitors were freshman Makenna Peterka (98), junior Brooke Hartman (100), senior Sydney  Carleton (106) and sophomore Lexi Helbling (119).
