Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ swimming team broke one school record on Saturday (Sept. 28) and earned the first invitational championship in the history of the school’s program.

The Bulldogs amassed 320 points and edged Champaign Central (312 points), which had finished ahead of M-S in two other meets this season. Metamora was third with 290 points.

The school record came in the 400-meter freestyle relay. The foursome of Talynn O’Donnell, Caroline Mills, Lainey Howard and Regan O’Donnell was timed in 3 minutes, 44.03 seconds, lowering the 2022 record (3:47.28) by more than three seconds.
