In a stellar start to the 2024 season, Adella Bird has emerged as a powerhouse for the undefeated Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team. Competing at the No. 1 singles and doubles positions, Bird has consistently delivered impressive performances, helping lead her team to a perfect 11-0 record in dual meets.

Bird’s resilience has been evident throughout the season, highlighted by several hard-fought victories in both singles and doubles. In the season-opener against Mount Zion, she fought back from a set down in singles to win 1-6, 6-4, 10-2, showcasing her ability to maintain focus under pressure. In doubles, her partnership with Holland Martin has been formidable, as the duo has a strong 5-1 record, including a commanding 6-3, 6-4 win over Mattoon.

Her performance against Centennial further solidified her status, with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and another victory at No. 1 doubles, 6-2, 6-0.
