Bulldogs pick up Apollo Conference win

Reese Gallier and Kylie Waldinger both tallied 15 points on Thursday (Jan. 25) as the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team posted a 52-39 Apollo Conference victory at Charleston.

Sidney Young contributed seven points and Adaline Eisenmann finished with six points for the Bulldogs. Grace Binkley totaled five points and Ellie Dallas ended with four points.

Gallier nailed four three-point shots and has connected on 22 three-pointers in her last seven games. For the season, she has a team-leading 63 three-pointers.

M-S led, 18-5, after one quarter and 32-19 at halftime.

On Saturday (Jan. 27), Waldinger totaled 10 points in a 57-39 loss at home to Effingham.

Gallier knocked down two three-pointers and added eight points. Binkley contributed six points and Dallas made five points. Selah Campion and Eisenmann each netted four points. Campion was 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Also reaching the scoring column for the Bulldogs was Young with two free throws.

M-S connected on 10 of 12 free throws.

Effingham led, 20-9, after one quarter and 37-21 at intermission.

M-S (11-15) returns to action on Tuesday (Jan. 30) at undefeated Lincoln, the state’s top-ranked Class 3A team.
