MSJHS softball season comes to end in Regional loss

Mahomet-Seymour’s junior high softball team exited from the Class 3A IESA regional with a first-round 21-11 loss at home against Rantoul Eater.
Pitchers from the two schools combined to issue 33 walks.
M-S’ Pfeifer Manuel reached base all five times she batted. She hit a single and drew four walks. Manuel scored three runs and drove in one.
Other Bulldog hits were by Hadley Carolan, Lena Ishcomer and Lauren Uebelhoer. Uebelhoer had an RBI as did teammates Reagan Ericson and Joella Snodsmith.
M-S finishes the season with an overall record of 1-12.
Snodsmith was the team’s top hitter for the season (.517 batting average). Other team leaders (with a minimum of 10 at-bats) were Manuel (.326) and Karsyn May-Ellis (.300).
Manuel and Snodsmith shared the team-lead in runs scored with 16. Driving in the most runs were Snodsmith (11), Manuel (nine) and Kaisley Shotkoski (nine).
Team-leaders in stolen bases were Snodsmith (15), Manuel (10), May-Ellis (six) and Madisyn Morgan (six).
Snodsmith had the most extra-base hits (four). She shared the team-lead in multi-hit games with Manuel (four).
Among pitchers, Uebelhoer led the team in appearances (12), innings pitched (30 1/3) and strikeouts (20).
