With four individuals placing among the top 10 on Friday (Sept. 1) in the 20-school Danville Invitational at Turtle Run, Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ golf squad captured the team championship.
The Bulldogs had a composite of 299, matching their season best. M-S beat runner-up Mount Zion (323) by 24 strokes.
Reis Claybrooke (71) finished in third place individually. Leif Olson (75) was seventh and was followed by Kelton Hennesy (76) in eighth and Parker Clements (77) in 10th.
The other M-S competitors were Carter Henrikson and Jacob Schoudel, each of whom fired 83s.
M-S returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 5) at Monticello in a meet that also includes Rantoul.
