Mahomet Family Dentistry Athlete of the Week: Champaign County Communities TNT Firecrackers
The Champaign County Communities TNT Firecrackers participated in the 2023 Special Olympics Summer Games in Bloomington on June 9. Several athletes from the Mahomet and St. Joseph communities were recognized for their accomplishments.
From Mahomet:
Preston Hodges received Gold in Powerlifting Bench Press Gold and Silver in DeadLift
Kinley Woods placed 4th All- Around in Gymnastics. She won the Gold in Balance Beam, Sliver in Floor Exercise, Bronze in Uneven Bars and Silver in Vault.
Isaac Allen received the Bronze Medal in Powerlifting Deadlift
Kara Januzik received a Bronze Medal in Balance Beam, Silver in Floor Exercise, and placed fifth in the Vault
Cecilia Taylor was the Gold Medalist in Powerlifting Gold (she deadlifts 60 pounds with 1 arm)
Dylan Overmyer qualified in Bocce
Makenna Barnes received a Bronze Medal in Track and Field 50m Non-Motorized
From St. Joseph:
Mia Frederick received the Silver Medal in Balance Beam, Silver in Floor Exercise, Silver in Uneven Bars, Silver in Vault placed 5th in All-Around
Maddox Reinhart won the Gold in Mini Jav and placed 5th in 200m Run
