Mahomet-Seymour junior Claire Johnson won her second consecutive singles match on Monday (Aug. 29), handling Centennial’s Ananya Shah, 7-5, 6-3, in the No. 6 match at Lindsay Courts.
Johnson’s victory was the lone one for the Bulldogs, who fell 8-1 to the Chargers.
At No. 1 singles, M-S’ Savannah Amatyleon dropped a hard-fought, 4-6, 6-1, 10-8 decision.
The Bulldogs (1-2) return to action on Thursday (Sept. 1) against Danville Schlarman at the Illini Grove Tennis Courts.
