Cece Abramson is not only helping the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ track and field team gain momentum in the spring 2022 season, but the senior is also leading in the classroom.
Recently, Abramson tied for third in the pole vault at 8 feet, 7 inches at the Champaign Central Invitational. In a meet at Mahomet-Seymour High School on Tuesday, Abramson took first in the triple jump (32 feet, 5 inches), finished eighth in the 300 hurdles (1:100.10) and sixth in the pole vault, again clearing 8 feet, 7 inches.
Abramson was one of 13 females throughout the state of Illinois to be named to the IHSA All-State Academic Team. Last week she was also recognized as an “unsung hero” of Mahomet-Seymour at the spring Breakfast of Champions presentation.
While at Mahomet-Seymour, Abramson has also participated in golf, cross country, the Math Team, Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering, Chess, the Interact Club and serves as a freshman mentor.
