Mahomet-Seymour’s Kelton Hennesy finished 21st among 75 golfers at the IESA State Tournament last Friday.
Hennesy shot a 80, just 9 over par on the Metamora Field Golf Club course. A week earlier he shot 77 at Eagle Ridge Golf Course, in Paris, placing third at regionals. This was the first year Mahomet-Seymour Junior High participated in IESA golf.
The eighth-grade student has played golf for two years. He began with the Legends Junior League in 2020 and the Lake of the Woods Junior League in 2021.
