The Mahomet Town and Country Women’s Club will hold the first meeting of the club year on Tuesday, September 21, at 7 PM at the Mahomet Public Library.
Due to covid protocols, masks must be worn and there will be no refreshments at this time.
The club will present donations to the representatives of Mahomet Area Youth Club, the Mahomet Public Library, and Helping Hands. They will also listen to a brief presentation by Library Director John Howard about the urgent need to assist the nearly 3 billion people worldwide who cook with open fires in their living rooms. Howard will discuss an outreach program that provides a unique stove that’s safer for the people as well as the environment.
The group would like to invite anyone interested in helping their community, making new friends, and having a good time to join. Weekly social opportunities alongside monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of the month are available for anyone interested in participating.
