Project 47 to close for “rest of the winter”
A post on Project 47 Smokehouse and Pub’s Facebook page states that the popular Mahomet barbecue restaurant will close its doors for the “rest of the winter” on Jan. 23.
“(We) will be re-evaluating everything, if and hopefully when, the state of Illinois and Champaign County lift indoor dining restrictions,” the post reads. “We tried our best to stay open but it is no longer viable. We will be selling what food we have until we run out, so be sure to not wait to long to order one of your favorites.”
The restaurant, owned by Justin Taylor, follows the closing of JT Walker’s on Dec. 13.
“We appreciate all the support over the years and hope to re-open when we can,” the post said.
