Mahomet-Seymour wrestling captures two Apollo Conference wins

Seven Bulldogs won twice on Tuesday as the team captured two Apollo Conference dual-meet victories at home.
M-S outpointed Lincoln 55-15 and Mount Zion 55-21.
Of the squad members who were 2-0 for the night, only Logan Petro (138 pounds), Colton Crowley (182 pounds) and Daniel Renshaw (220 pounds) registered two pins.
Renshaw had the Bulldogs’ quickest fall of the night, 28 seconds.
Other M-S grapplers who were unbeaten for the night were Caden Hatton (106 pounds), Hayden Nelson (152 pounds), Brennan Houser (160 pounds) and Seth Buchanan (185 pounds).
For the evening, M-S won 20 bouts and 11 were by pin.
Other Bulldogs with pins were Payton Ragona (113 pounds), Braeden Heinold (132 pounds), Chance Decker (145 pounds) and Mateo Casillas (195 pounds).
The Bulldogs, ranked 22nd in Class 2A in this week’s Illinois Best Weekly poll, return to action tonight at Champaign Central in a meet that also includes Pontiac.
