Nichols places in three indoor track events at EIU Invitational

Lakeida Nichols was a three-event individual placer on Saturday for Mahomet-Seymour in the Class 2A division of the Eastern Illinois University Indoor Invitational.
Nichols was third in the 60-meter dash (8.07 seconds), sixth in the 200 meters (27.13) and tied for 10th in the long jump (15 feet, 3 inches).
In all, the Bulldogs placed sixth in the 32-school field with 34 points. Meet champion Monticello amassed 56 points.
Cece Abramson was the runner-up in the pole vault (11-0) and Brisa McGrath took the second spot in the 3,200 meters (11:49.36).
Two Bulldogs ended seventh in their events: Destiny Pryor in the 400 meters (1:08.15) and Elizabeth Sims in the 1,600 meters (5:31.96).
The other individual to secure a top 10 finish for the Bulldogs was 60-meter hurdler Sylvia Byron. She was 10th in 10.59.
The M-S 3,200-meter relay ended fourth, clocking a time of 10:22.6.
