M-S Board to consider live streaming meetings

With the necessary equipment already in place, the Mahomet-Seymour School Board said they would consider live streaming school board meetings Monday.

District Network Specialist Jared Lynn said the recording and audio equipment is already in place to make live streaming happen.

Board President Max McComb said they board talked about live streaming during their self-study in August, and it is something they are interested in doing.

McComb suggested that they record the board study session on October 2 for a trial run.

McComb said if the board likes the video they will release it and if they do not like it they will “tweak” with a commitment to release.

Local districts such as Unit 4 in Champaign and the Urbana School District provide recordings for their constituents.

Lynn said the video would be able to be archived on the district site.
