Mahomet-Seymour junior Aron Varga placed 39th on Friday (Feb. 24) in the IHSA boys’ state swimming and diving meet in the 100-yard breaststroke.
Varga, the first Bulldog boy to qualify for state, covered the distance in 1 minute, 1.64 seconds, just under the school-record time he posted at sectionals (1:00.30).
Varga was the lone M-S participant at state.
There were 40 competitors in his race. The top 12 qualified for the finals. It took at 57.26 clocking to advance to the finals.
