Rodebaugh places first at Honor Roll Meet

Mahomet-Seymour’s Grace Rodebaugh was the high jump champion on Monday (May 16) in the 39th News-Gazette girls’ track and field Honor Roll Meet at Urbana High School.

Rodebaugh cleared 5 feet and ½ inch.

M-S athletes finished second in two events.

Ava Boyd was the runner-up in the 1,600 meters in 5 minutes, 36.63 seconds.

The Bulldogs’ 3,200-meter relay foursome of Elizabeth Sims, Chloe Bundren, Emily Bednar and Boyd took second in 10:26.00.

Other M-S placers in the season-ending meet were Amaya Francom (fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 52.60 seconds), Sims (fifth in the 1,600 meters in 5:41.47), Kelsie Fuoss (fifth in the pole vault at 9 feet, 8 inches), and Cece Abramson (sixth in the pole vault at 8 feet, 10 ¼ inches, and seventh in the triple jump at 29 feet, 6 inches).

Grabbing a fourth-place finish was the 1,600-meter relay unit of Kara Carney, Callie Jansen, Bundren and Chloe Allen. Their cumulative time was 4:26.48.
