Petitions available for Mahomet-Seymour School Board

Petitions for candidates interested in filling one of three Mahomet-Seymour School Board seats in the 2021 consolidated election are available.

Two seats within the Mahomet Township, currently held by Lori Larson and Max Mcomb,  and one seat from the remaining congressional townships, currently held by Merle Giles, are up for election. 

Petitions and the 2021 Candidate’s Guide can be downloaded from the Champaign County Clerk’s website.

Any person who, on the date of election, is a citizen of the United States, of the age of 18 years or over, a resident of the State and the territory encompassing the district for one year preceding the election, and a registered voter is eligible. A member shall not be a child sex offender as defined in Section 11-9.3 of the Criminal Code of 2012 and cannot serve as a school trustee.

Petitions must be filed with the Champaign County Clerk from 8:00 a.m. on Dec. 14 through 5:00 p.m. December 21th. The Clerk’s office is open from 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday.

The library board is a non-partisan position.
