Car Enthusiasts, Start your engines and get to Mahomet and Seymour for two annual car shows that draw hundreds of cars each year.
Seymour Show and Shine Car Show will run from 1 to 5 p.m. on July 4, shortly after the Seymour Fourth of July Parade, which begins at 10 a.m. Registration for the auto show begins at noon.
The event includes food vendors and music. Winners will be announced at 5 p.m. Following the auto show, Seymour will end the Fourth with fireworks as dusk.
The Seymour event is followed up by the Mahomet Auto Show in downtown Mahomet on July 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event is free to the public. Car owners who wish to showcase their vehicle will have to pay $15.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m., followed by voting from 1 to 3 p.m., awards at 3:30 p.m. and a cruise through the Lake of the Woods at 4 p.m.
Food vendors with breakfast, lunch and drink options will be available.
The Mahomet Auto Show draws about 200 vehicles each year.
