Mahomet’s Tara Vardell looks to help others through The Task Tackler

Have you ever been overwhelmed with all that’s on your plate? Struggling to fit in time to shop for groceries or knock out some chores. Well Mahomet’s Tara Varndell has the solution for you!

Varndell recently started a business called “The Task Tackler” which provides a litany of services for a fair price. According to her Facebook page for the website, these services include organization, laundry, pet sitting, car cleaning, carpet cleaning, online shopping and research, making and delivering lunches and running. With Christmas right around the corner, The Task Tackler also offers gift shopping and wrapping.

Over the past 12 years, Varndell has been trusted by over 40 families in the Mahomet area and surrounding communities to provide reliable childcare and licensed in-home care.

Varndell currently has two children enrolled in the Mahomet-Seymour school district, and ever since they began their educational journey, Vardell thought it was time to switch around her daily routine.

“With my kids and my nephews all going into school, it was time for a change,” said Varndell. “I’ve enjoyed being self-employed and I love to help people, so I came up with this as a way to use my time not only to help people and make money.”

During her first few weeks running The Task Tackler, Varndell has claimed organization-related help is her most requested service. Heading into the winter months, it is paramount to keep not only your living spaces clean but your closet and bedroom as well.

“Organization is becoming more popular,” said Varndell. “I have posted before and after pictures, which have got my work out there. And so people are wanting me to organize their closets or their bedrooms. But I would say if it comes down to numbers, I have done a lot of cleaning. People get a hold of me to clean their bathrooms.”

Most of the work done through The Task Tackler involves chores done indoors, however, Varndell wants to expand to have other labor-intensive tasks available for clients.

“Eventually I would like to start hiring out different people so I can expand the service list,” said Varndell. “Right now it is based around things I can do myself. But I would love to add my husband, who is a mechanic, to the list. I would love to add landscaping and yard work, as that is something many people need or want.”

If you wish to get in contact with Mrs. Varndell for one of her services, she is available via her cell phone number (217-898-9050), email address (task2tackle@gmail.com), and Facebook messenger. Despite mainly running her business through Facebook, Varndell would love to expand and maybe gain clients in other fashions.

“I am running it through Facebook so far, but I would like to start doing it in other ways,” said Varndell. “It is going really well, so far I have had a full schedule, as people mainly in Fisher have been utilizing it.”

A quick response from Mrs. Varndell will ask about scheduling the appointment, and any other information she needs from you. Varndell puts a big emphasis on connecting with those in her community that will benefit from the services.

“First off, I like to meet people,” said Varndell. “I want to see what they need done and talk about it, like a meet-and-greet.”

If there is any question from the client of whether Mrs. Varndell will be completing the tasks in a timely manner, she even will offer to wear a Go-Pro and film it while she finishes the job.

Although she has only been in business for a few weeks, Tara Varndell has lofty hopes for The Task Tackler and hopes not only that she can expand her business, but that she can connect with those all throughout the area.

“Right now I offer ten services that are in my capabilities,” said Varndell. “And just to expand that list, and to help others in the process is my main goal.”
