Mahomet-Seymour golf remains undefeated

Reis Claybrooke fired a season-best 34 on Thursday (Sept. 14) in a three-school boys’ golf meet at the University of Illinois Course, in Savoy, to spark the undefeated Mahomet-Seymour squad to a team triumph.

The Bulldogs had a team composite of 152 and edged runner-up St. Thomas More (155) by three strokes. Taking third was the Rantoul/Paxton-Buckley-Loda cooperative team (!60).

Claybrooke tied for medalist honors.

Other M-S leaders were Parker Clements (season-best 37), Leif Olson (39), Jacob Schoudel (42) Carter Henrikson (42) and Cole Thrasher (44).

M-S (7-0) returns to action on Monday (Sept. 18) in the Apollo Conference meet at Charleston.

In the junior varsity portion of the meet, M-S posted a 167 team score and defeated St. Thomas More (201) and Rantoul/PBL (217).

Jackson Bohm (38) and Zach Blumenshine (39) were the Bulldog leaders. Following them were teammates Brogan Hennesy (43), Riley Dowers (47), Aden Bergman (48) and Jake Rothlisberger (48).
