Boys’ swimming

M-S captured the runner-up team finish in the eight-school Illini Prairie Conference meet, led by record-setting diver Dalton DeMay.

The junior achieved an 11-dive career-best of 321.45 points, breaking the pool record at Stanford Olympia High School.

Pontiac secured the team championship in last Saturday’s meet.

Two Bulldogs earned second-place finishes. Gavin Groff was second in the 200-yard freestyle and teammate Dante Waters was second in the 100 freestyle.

William Larson produced a pair of third-place finishes, in the 200 individual medley and in the 100 butterfly. Also taking third was M-S’ Groff in the 500 freestyle.

Two relays teams were also third. Groff and Evan Herriott were on both of the high-placing relays, the 200 freestyle unit, and the 400 freestyle relay.

Also on the 200 were Tucker Antonacci and Ryan Whitehouse. Larson and Groff were on the 400 foursome.
