Family Fun Friday: Musical Instrument Petting Zoo

June 9: 10:00 am TO 11:30 pm
Mahomet Public Library

Join the Mahomet Public Library for a one-of-a-kind petting zoo! Kids will get a chance to see how different musical instruments work and hear from musicians about their musical experiences. 

Friday Neighborhood Nights

June 9: 6 to 8 p.m.

Neighborhood Nights, featuring David Howie at Brent Johnson Park from 6:00-8:00 pm. Bring your friends and family for a fun evening! Ice Daddy’s, Maize and Butcher Block Burger Stop will be there.

Mahomet’s Largest Garage Sale

June 10: 9:30-1:30
Mahomet-Seymour High School

Help members of the Mahomet-Seymour marching band fundraise for their trip to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Almost 100 students will be set up in the high school parking lot with their treasures to sell. Each student keeps their proceeds to offset the cost of the December trip. Food and drinks will be available. If it rains, the sale may be moved indoors.

Mahomet Soda Fest

June 10: 10am – 7pm 

Music starts at 10 with music provided by DJMRIXXR1. We will have Jake & Jackson from 12-2:30 and The Hood Family Band from 3-6
Food Trucks will be here throughout the day- Brien’s Bistro, Flour and Fire Pizza, The Main Scoop Mahomet, Ice Daddy’s, Mamma D’s Smokehouse Restaraunt and Catering, LaPaloma, CHOP TRUCK, and Juanita’s Tacos.

Touch-A-Truck

June 10: 10:00am – 1:00pm
Location – Grace Church

Load up your family in the car and start your engines! Your family will be able to explore various vehicles by climbing into, on and around police cars, firetrucks, tractors, snowplows, and other construction vehicles!

Diamond Dogs Classic

Twenty-one East Central Illinois 8U-10U baseball teams will gather at 13 Acres for the annual Diamond Dog Classic June 9-11.

Pokemon TCG: Mega Trade Event

June 11: 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Rad Lad Games

Join Rad Lad Games for their largest and most joyful event of the month – the monthly mega trade event. Door prizes to all attendees, raffle entry to win huge Pokemon prizes, and a HUGE group of Pokemon collectors young and old to connect with.

Authors at the Library: Ekta R. Garg

June 10: 2:00 to 3:00 pm

Champaign author, Ekta R. Garg, will be coming to the library to talk about her second and newest book, In the Heart of the Linden Wood.

Ever wonder what happens after “happily ever after?” In the Heart of the Linden Wood answers the question in this original fairy tale for grown-ups. Perfect for fans of classics like The Chronicles of NarniaBridge to Terabithia, and The Neverending Story, Garg’s In the Heart of the Linden Wood tells the story of a grieving king who has to save his kingdom from an imminent threat by going on a quest, rescuing some hostages, and mending another broken heart piece-by-piece, all while struggling with whether he’s worthy of his crown. Ekta will read from the book, answer questions about the novel and her writing process, and sign copies available for purchase.

Role With It! Readers’ Theatre for Teens & Adults

June 11: 2:00 to 4:30 pm
Mahomet Public Library

This play-reading club for theatre enthusiasts will meet once a month to read through a popular play. Participants will be assigned roles and receive a copy of the script ahead of time. After the read-through, we will discuss our thoughts about the play.
