Mahomet-Seymour soccer ties Metamora

After a scoreless first half, Mahomet-Seymour’s Paislee Welge scored a goal, assisted by Holland Martin, but Metamora netted the equalizier in the final two minutes to salvage a 1-1 tie in a girls’ soccer match played at the Rantoul Sports Complex turf fields on Wednesday (March 22).

M-S (1-0-1) returns to action on Saturday (March 25) at Middletown Field, in Mahomet, against Dunlap.

The undefeated M-S junior varsity squad shut out Metamora, 5-0. Gwen Cambron had two goals and one assist.

Also scoring for the Bulldogs’ JV team were Hannah Creel, Hadley Grotelueschen and Camryn Nelson.

Teammates with assists were Lindsay Gowler, Haley Reed, Grace Binkley and Grotelueschen.
