Waldinger scores 33-points against Mt. Zion and Normal West

Jake Waldinger hit three three-point shots and led Mahomet-Seymour with 12 points on Friday (Jan. 27), but the Bulldogs lost a 61-40 Apollo Conference decision at league-leading Mount Zion (22-2).

M-S led, 9-6, after one quarter and was within eight points in the third period.

Adam Dyer netted 10 points and Trey Peters added eight points.

Dyer and Byron Lynch each pulled down four rebounds. Finn Randolph contributed five points and four assists.

On Saturday (Jan. 28), Waldinger recorded a season-high 21 points to lead the Bulldogs, who dropped a 60-50 decision at Normal West.

The teams were tied, 11-11, after one period. Normal West led, 24-22, at halftime.

Wyatt Bohm posted seven rebounds, five points and three assists. Waldinger hauled down six rebounds.

Randolph ended with five points and three assists. Dyer contributed four rebounds, three points and three assists. Peters also had four rebounds and three points.

M-S (8-13) returns to action on Tuesday (Jan. 31) at Normal Community.
