Centennial ends Bulldog tennis winning streak

By Fred Kroner

The winning streak for the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team came to an abrupt halt on Tuesday (Aug. 31) at Centennial.

The Chargers copped a 9-0 dual-meet win.

M-S sophomore Savannah Amatyleon suffered a hard-luck loss at No. 5 singles. She dropped a 1-6, 7-5, 10-8 decision to Centennial’s Yehyun Nam.

Bulldogs Sophia Slupski (No.4 singles) and Gianna Hill (No. 5 singles) were each beaten for the first time this season.

M-S (2-1) returns to action on Thursday (Sept. 2) at Danville Schlarman Academy.
